Automation Controls/Robotics Packaging Engineer
Design and specify automated packaging systems that move products from primary packaging through case packing, palletizing, and final shipment.
Job Requirements
Experience reviewing customer bid specifications and translating requirements into equipment solutions
Experience specifying packaging machinery and material handling equipment
Knowledge of powered conveyor systems
Knowledge of shrink wrapping equipment
Experience with secondary packaging equipment
Experience developing complete packaging line concepts
Ability to select and integrate equipment based on product flow, production requirements, and available floor space
Experience creating equipment layouts for manufacturing or warehouse environments
Ability to define machine functionality and operating requirements for controls and programming teams
Experience supporting equipment installation, startup, and commissioning at customer sites
Ability to travel to customer locations as required
Preferred Skills
Experience with case packing systems
Experience with palletizing systems
Experience with carton sealing and case handling equipment
Experience with automated material handling systems
Experience integrating multiple packaging machines into a complete production line
Experience with packaging line layout and equipment placement
Familiarity with PLC-controlled packaging equipment
Experience supporting food, consumer products, or high-volume packaging operations
Job Responsibilities
Review customer specifications and packaging requirements
Develop packaging system concepts from product input through final palletized output
Specify conveyors, shrink wrappers, case packers, palletizers, and related packaging equipment
Determine required equipment based on product size, packaging configuration, throughput, and process requirements
Develop complete product-flow and material-handling strategies
Create equipment layouts that fit within available facility space
Define functional requirements for each machine and system
Coordinate equipment interfaces between individual machines
Provide functional requirements to controls and programming teams
Support equipment selection and vendor evaluation
Participate in system design reviews
Support installation and integration of packaging systems at customer sites
Perform startup, commissioning, and operational verification of installed equipment
Troubleshoot equipment integration and product-flow issues during system startup
Verify completed systems meet defined production and packaging requirements
Pay: 63-84/hr

Pay Details: $63.00 to $84.00 per hour
