Sheetmetal Techs / Assemblers
Assemble new-build aircraft structures using sheet metal fabrication, riveting, precision drilling, and complex aerospace assembly processes.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of four to five years of new-build aircraft structural assembly experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Minimum of two years of sheet metal riveting experience
- Experience using rivet guns, hand squeezes, floor squeezes, and pneumatic drills
- Experience assembling aircraft structures from complex blueprints, specifications, and charts
- Knowledge of GD&T requirements
- Experience using aircraft assembly tools
- Experience using precision measuring instruments, including calipers and scales
- Experience applying specified torque to aircraft fasteners
- Experience with close-tolerance drilling
- Experience performing hole layout
- Experience working with complex assembly fixtures
- Experience mixing and applying adhesives and sealants
- Experience performing structural assembly on production aircraft rather than maintenance or repair work
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting major aircraft manufacturing programs
- Experience with commercial, military, rotorcraft, or business-jet structural assembly
- Experience with large aerospace OEM manufacturing standards
- Experience with structural subassemblies, fuselage sections, wings, or related airframe components
Job Responsibilities
- Assemble new-build aircraft structural components and subassemblies
- Perform sheet metal riveting using manual and pneumatic equipment
- Drill close-tolerance holes according to engineering requirements
- Lay out hole patterns and structural attachment locations
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, charts, and GD&T requirements
- Install structural fasteners and apply specified torque values
- Use calipers, scales, and other precision measurement tools
- Set up and work within complex aircraft assembly fixtures
- Mix and apply approved structural adhesives and sealants
- Verify structural fit, alignment, and dimensional requirements
- Perform fabrication and assembly operations using approved aerospace tools and procedures
- Inspect completed structural work for conformance to engineering and production requirements
Pay Details: $28.00 to $38.00 per hour
