Senior Electronics Technician

Build, test, troubleshoot, and support development of electronic hardware, PCB assemblies, cable harnesses, power systems, and engineering test platforms.

Job Requirements

• Associate degree or technical certificate in Electronics Engineering Technology, bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent hands-on electronics experience
• Minimum of seven years of experience building, testing, or troubleshooting electronic hardware
• Hands-on experience with soldering and electronic rework
• Experience building cable and wire harness assemblies
• Ability to read and work from electrical schematics and assembly drawings
• Experience using digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and function generators
• Knowledge of analog and digital circuits
• Knowledge of electrical power distribution
• Experience performing hardware bring-up, functional testing, and debug
• Experience troubleshooting electrical faults to the component level
• Experience assembling and reworking printed circuit boards
• Experience documenting build and test results
• Experience supporting engineering test fixtures, jigs, and bench setups

Preferred Skills

• IPC-A-610 certification or training
• J-STD-001 certification or training
• Experience with Altium or comparable ECAD software
• Experience with schematic capture
• Experience with PCB layout
• Experience with BOM management
• Experience using spectrum analyzers and signal generators
• Experience testing DC/DC and AC/DC power systems
• Experience with battery management systems
• Experience with RF or sensor subsystem testing
• Experience with EMC testing
• Experience with environmental qualification testing
• Experience with MIL-STD test requirements
• Military electronics, engineering laboratory, prototype development, or similar hands-on technical experience

Job Responsibilities

• Build and assemble prototype and pilot-run electronic hardware
• Assemble and rework PCBs, cable harnesses, and electromechanical systems
• Perform soldering and component-level rework according to applicable workmanship standards
• Perform hardware bring-up, functional testing, and debugging of new boards and systems
• Operate multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, function generators, and related laboratory equipment
• Test DC/DC converters, AC/DC power systems, battery management systems, and related power electronics
• Support RF and sensor subsystem testing
• Diagnose electrical failures to the component level
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for hardware issues
• Execute engineering test plans and formal verification and validation procedures
• Support EMC, environmental, and MIL-STD testing
• Record test data, anomalies, and qualification results
• Assist with schematic capture and PCB layout activities
• Support bill of materials creation and maintenance
• Build and maintain test fixtures, jigs, and engineering bench setups
• Maintain build documentation, test records, calibration records, and hardware configuration documentation

Pay Details: $36.00 to $48.00 per hour
