Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field

  • Minimum of six years of experience in mechanical or electromechanical design, analysis, testing, or manufacturing

  • Experience developing complex mechanical hardware systems

  • Experience performing engineering analysis using hand calculations, simulation, and CAD tools

  • Experience creating production-ready mechanical designs

  • Knowledge of statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, and materials

  • Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing

  • Experience performing tolerance stack-up analysis

  • Knowledge of design for manufacturability and design for assembly principles

  • Experience supporting hardware verification and qualification testing

  • Experience developing detailed production drawings

  • Experience supporting products from concept through production

Preferred Skills

  • Aerospace or other high-reliability hardware development experience

  • Advanced proficiency with Creo

  • Experience with SolidWorks

  • Experience with finite element analysis

  • Experience with computational fluid dynamics tools such as FloTHERM or FloEFD

  • Experience with electronic board assembly mechanical design

  • Experience developing PCB mounting, enclosure, and thermal-management solutions

  • Knowledge of chip-level, package-level, and board-level electronics integration

  • Experience with aircraft systems or avionics hardware integration

  • Knowledge of RF and EMI/EMC considerations in mechanical hardware design

  • Familiarity with FAA certification processes

  • Knowledge of DO-160 and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations

  • Experience supporting high-rate production or in-house manufacturing environments

  • Knowledge of supply chain, manufacturing processes, and product lifecycle management

  • Experience performing thermal analysis and thermal-management design

  • Experience supporting multidisciplinary electrical, RF, EMC, and manufacturing interfaces

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical and electromechanical hardware development from conceptual design through production and in-service operation

  • Own mechanical design, hardware verification, qualification testing, production ramp-up, and field deployment activities

  • Define mechanical design criteria and system requirements

  • Perform engineering analyses using hand calculations, FEA, CFD, and CAD tools

  • Develop and evaluate design concepts for system trade studies

  • Optimize mechanical designs for system-level performance

  • Lead mechanical design reviews

  • Support component and system qualification activities

  • Develop detailed production drawings using GD&T

  • Perform tolerance stack-up analyses to validate manufacturability and assembly requirements

  • Design mechanical integration and mounting solutions for electronic assemblies

  • Develop thermal-management solutions for electronic hardware

  • Apply DFM and DFA principles to reduce part count, process complexity, and manufacturing risk

  • Implement error-proofing features within mechanical designs and assembly processes

  • Support FAA certification and regulatory compliance activities

  • Establish and optimize product lifecycle requirements from supply chain through final integration

  • Support production ramp-up, manufacturing troubleshooting, and design improvements

  • Manage technical deliverables across concept, design, build, qualification, production, and service phases

  • Implement design changes to improve hardware reliability, performance, manufacturability, and lifecycle support

Pay: 40-60/hr

Pay Details: $40.00 to $60.00 per hour
