Milling Machinist
Sets up, proves out, and operates multi-axis CNC machining centers to produce precision components for aerospace and other regulated manufacturing applications.
Job Requirements
At least 5 years of CNC milling experience
Ability to independently set up, prove out, and operate CNC machining centers
Advanced experience with 3-axis and 4-axis CNC milling
Experience working in AS9100 aerospace manufacturing or a comparable precision manufacturing environment
Experience in high-mix, low-volume, or prototype machining environments
Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
Experience producing components to tight aerospace tolerances
Experience machining titanium, Inconel, stainless steel, hardened steel, and heat-resistant alloys
Proficiency with cutting tools, workholding, fixtures, feeds, speeds, offsets, and machining strategies
Experience performing first-article and in-process inspections
Proficiency with precision measuring and metrology equipment
Ability to diagnose setup, tooling, dimensional, surface-finish, and machining-process issues
Preferred Skills
Experience with 5-axis CNC milling
Experience operating Okuma CNC machining centers
Experience with Fanuc controls
Experience machining prototype aerospace components
Knowledge of process optimization for difficult-to-machine materials
Job Responsibilities
Set up, prove out, and operate multi-axis CNC machining centers
Perform 3-axis, 4-axis, and applicable 5-axis milling operations
Select and install cutting tools, fixtures, workholding devices, and machine accessories
Establish and adjust feeds, speeds, tool offsets, and machining parameters
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirements
Produce precision components from titanium, Inconel, stainless steel, hardened steel, and other heat-resistant alloys
Manufacture high-mix, low-volume, and prototype components
Perform first-article and in-process inspections
Verify dimensions, tolerances, surface finishes, and geometric requirements using precision measuring equipment
Adjust tooling, offsets, fixtures, and machining processes to maintain specifications
Troubleshoot setup, tooling, dimensional, surface-finish, and process-stability issues
Follow established machining procedures, work instructions, and AS9100 quality requirements
Document setup information, inspection results, and production records
Maintain consistent production of conforming precision components
Pay: 33-40/hr

Pay Details: $33.00 to $40.00 per hour
