Safety Supervisor

Leads health, safety, and environmental programs for active life sciences construction projects, including regulatory compliance, field oversight, incident management, and contractor safety coordination.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in health and safety, environmental health and safety, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and construction experience
• Five to ten years of construction-industry experience
• Experience supporting health, safety, and environmental programs on active construction projects
• Construction trade or craft leadership experience with responsibility for safety oversight may be considered
• Experience enforcing safe work practices for self-perform and subcontractor crews
• At least one of the following certifications:
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction
  • OSHA 510
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician
  • Certified Safety Professional
• Experience delivering safety training, toolbox talks, job hazard analyses, and field coaching
• Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations
• Experience implementing company and client safety requirements at the project level
• Experience conducting safety observations, assessments, audits, and compliance reviews across multiple trades
• Experience maintaining regulatory records, incident documentation, reports, and compliance files
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams
• Ability to travel to assigned project locations

Preferred Skills

• Professional health, safety, or environmental certification
• Degree in safety, engineering, construction management, or a related discipline
• Experience supporting life sciences construction projects
• Experience with regulated, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, laboratory, or cleanroom construction
• Experience developing project-specific HSE plans
• Experience reviewing subcontractor safety plans and documentation
• Experience participating in operational-readiness reviews and construction risk assessments
• Experience supervising or mentoring field HSE personnel
• Knowledge of multi-contractor and multi-trade construction safety programs
• Experience coordinating safety requirements with clients, design teams, and construction management

Job Responsibilities

• Lead health, safety, and environmental activities for active construction projects
• Develop and implement project-specific HSE plans, procedures, and compliance programs
• Ensure implementation of applicable regulatory, company, and client safety requirements
• Conduct field safety observations, inspections, assessments, and compliance reviews
• Monitor self-perform and subcontractor crews for compliance with safe work practices
• Review job hazard analyses, work plans, permits, and subcontractor safety documentation
• Deliver orientation programs, toolbox talks, safety training, and task-specific instruction
• Participate in project planning, constructability reviews, operational-readiness reviews, and risk assessments
• Provide regulatory interpretation and technical HSE guidance
• Lead incident reporting, investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action tracking
• Support injury case management and return-to-work activities
• Maintain incident records, inspection reports, training documentation, and regulatory files
• Track HSE performance metrics and identify improvement opportunities
• Coordinate corrective actions with project management, field supervision, and subcontractors
• Support continuous-improvement initiatives for project safety performance
• Mentor field HSE staff and provide technical oversight for assigned projects
• Coordinate HSE activities with clients, construction managers, contractors, and project stakeholders
• Maintain visible field oversight while completing required administrative HSE responsibilities
• Travel throughout assigned regions to support project safety activities

Pay Details: $24.00 to $32.00 per hour
