Sets up, operates, and maintains production grinding equipment while completing required inspections, records, preventive maintenance, and quality-control activities.

Job Requirements

  • Experience setting up and operating production machinery
  • Ability to operate at least one process machine, such as a rotary grinder or surface grinder
  • Ability to perform machine setups and grinding-wheel changes within established setup times
  • Ability to inspect manufactured parts and verify compliance with quality standards
  • Ability to maintain tooling calibration, production, utilization, scheduling, and quality records
  • Ability to complete required preventive maintenance tasks
  • Ability to achieve and maintain machine operator certification
  • Availability to work one of the following shifts:
    • First shift: Monday–Friday, 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
    • Second shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m.
    • Third shift: Sunday–Friday, 11:30 p.m.–6:30 a.m.
  • Ability to meet applicable background screening and drug-testing requirements

Preferred Skills

  • Experience operating rotary or surface grinding equipment
  • Experience performing grinding-wheel changes and machine adjustments
  • Experience inspecting work completed by non-certified operators
  • Experience training machine operators or trainees
  • Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance practices
  • Experience maintaining visual control boards and hourly production charts
  • Knowledge of 6S workplace organization standards

Job Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain assigned production machinery
  • Perform machine setups and grinding-wheel changes
  • Operate rotary grinders, surface grinders, or related process equipment
  • Monitor machine performance and adjust operating parameters as required
  • Inspect parts for dimensional and quality compliance
  • Inspect work completed by non-certified operators
  • Maintain tooling calibration and daily equipment inspection records
  • Record productivity, utilization, scheduling, and quality data
  • Maintain visual control boards and hourly production charts
  • Perform Total Productive Maintenance activities
  • Assist with training machine operator trainees
  • Complete end-of-shift cleaning and equipment procedures
  • Maintain 6S and production-area housekeeping standards
  • Follow applicable quality, environmental, health, and safety procedures
  • Participate in continuous-improvement activities


Pay Details: $20.00 to $27.00 per hour
