R&D Technician III

Build, document, and test prototypes, fixtures, products, materials, and processes in support of research and development engineering activities.

Job Requirements

• Associate degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent work experience

• 3+ years of related technical experience

• Experience supporting research and development, engineering, or product development activities

• Experience constructing prototypes, products, fixtures, or test assemblies

• Experience using mechanical drawings or CAD software

• Technical support experience

• Experience following engineering instructions, specifications, and test procedures

• Experience coordinating prototype builds and testing activities

• Experience sourcing technical supplies, components, and external services

Preferred Skills

• Machinist experience

• Research and development experience

• Experience with prototype machining, fabrication, or assembly

• Experience creating basic mechanical drawings

• Experience documenting fixtures and prototype designs in CAD

• Knowledge of product specifications and quality standards

• Experience working with external vendors for technical materials and services

Job Responsibilities

• Develop prototype and product concepts based on engineering requirements

• Construct prototypes, products, fixtures, and test assemblies

• Create and update basic mechanical drawings and CAD documentation

• Organize and execute prototype builds according to engineering instructions

• Perform testing of prototypes, materials, products, processes, and equipment

• Document build methods, design changes, test results, and fixture configurations

• Support engineers and scientists during product and process development

• Assist with the development of technical specifications and quality standards

• Identify and obtain required materials, components, supplies, and services

• Coordinate with qualified external vendors for fabrication and technical support

• Evaluate prototype performance and provide technical findings to project teams

• Maintain project build, testing, and status documentation

Pay: 30-35/hr

Pay Details: $30.00 to $35.00 per hour
