Electrical Design Regional Manager
Leads a regional electrical engineering department delivering life science facility designs, project estimates, staffing plans, and construction-phase support.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 15 years of electrical engineering and design experience
- Experience designing building electrical systems
- Advanced knowledge of NFPA 70, the National Electrical Code, and applicable local building codes
- Experience designing medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems
- Experience designing large uninterruptible power supply and generator systems
- Experience designing lighting, grounding, and heat-trace systems
- Experience managing electrical engineers and designers
- Experience developing staffing plans and engineering labor estimates
- Experience supporting multiple projects through design development and construction
- Experience working on multidisciplinary facility design teams
- Experience coordinating directly with client technical representatives
- Experience preparing project feasibility studies, concept designs, technical reports, and cost estimates
Preferred Skills
- Professional Engineer license
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Electrical engineering experience supporting life science facilities or campuses
- Experience designing pharmaceutical, biotechnology, laboratory, or regulated manufacturing facilities
- Proficiency with Revit
- Experience managing regional staffing across multiple projects and offices
- Experience developing project proposals and scope-based design estimates
- Experience supporting electrical construction administration and field activities
- Experience coordinating with life science client electrical engineering teams
Job Responsibilities
- Manage a regional department of electrical engineers and designers
- Assign personnel across projects based on workload, technical requirements, schedules, and available resources
- Monitor department staffing levels, project demands, and workforce requirements
- Develop staffing plans and labor estimates for prospective and active projects
- Lead electrical department meetings and coordinate regional project activities
- Align regional department strategies, proposals, and staffing with broader engineering leadership
- Interface with clients to define project scope, technical requirements, and deliverables
- Lead early feasibility studies and electrical concept development
- Prepare technical reports, project cost estimates, and preliminary design documentation
- Oversee electrical design activities for life science facilities
- Review medium- and low-voltage power, UPS, generator, lighting, grounding, and heat-trace designs
- Verify compliance with NEC requirements, local codes, project specifications, and engineering standards
- Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, structural, process, and other engineering disciplines
- Review project proposals, design deliverables, schedules, and staffing assumptions
- Provide technical direction for complex electrical design issues
- Escalate strategic technical risks and workforce planning needs to department leadership
- Monitor engineering work performance and technical development
- Support construction-phase activities, design clarifications, and technical issue resolution
Pay Details: $200,000.00 to $220,000.00 per year
