Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Industrial equipment maintenance and repair experience in a heavy-manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and vacuum systems
  • Experience repairing mechanical drives, motors, conveyors, and motor-control equipment
  • Experience using volt-ohm-amp meters and other electrical testing instruments
  • Ability to read blueprints, sketches, equipment manuals, and electrical schematics
  • Basic knowledge of PLC systems and electrical maintenance
  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment hazards, safety procedures, and inspection methods
  • Ability to satisfy applicable ITAR requirements
  • Availability for rotating weekend on-call assignments
  • Ability to pass required background and drug-screening requirements

Preferred Skills

  • Maintenance experience in a steel-processing environment
  • Experience troubleshooting motor control centers, variable-frequency drives, and electrical subpanels
  • Welding and metal fabrication experience
  • Basic machining, grinding, and drilling experience
  • Experience performing equipment installations, modifications, and overhauls

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair mechanical and electrical equipment throughout the facility
  • Inspect, repair, and overhaul mechanical drives, motors, pneumatic components, and hydraulic components
  • Troubleshoot and repair motor control centers, drives, and electrical subpanels
  • Use electrical meters and testing equipment to diagnose equipment failures
  • Maintain and repair conveyor systems
  • Perform basic machine-shop work, including grinding, drilling, welding, fabrication, and machining
  • Install, maintain, and modify industrial equipment and control systems
  • Diagnose failures involving mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum, and electrical systems
  • Perform emergency repairs during assigned weekend on-call rotations
  • Document equipment inspections, repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities
  • Follow required lockout/tagout procedures, equipment safety requirements, and PPE standards

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work around metal powders and nickel-containing materials
  • Ability to wear a respirator while performing assigned duties
  • Ability to work around and on industrial machinery
  • Ability to climb steep stairs and ladders
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection


Pay Details: $24.00 to $33.00 per hour
