Job Requirements

  • Technical or associate degree in plumbing, mechanical design, or a related discipline from an accredited institution, or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in an MEP design environment
  • Extensive knowledge of plumbing systems and design practices
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, or comparable plumbing design software
  • Experience performing plumbing design for large, technically complex facilities
  • Experience reviewing plumbing drawings, calculations, specifications, and design deliverables
  • Experience managing design workload, schedules, and project budgets
  • Experience supervising plumbing designers and engineers

Preferred Skills

  • Certified Plumbing Designer certification
  • Experience designing plumbing systems for pharmaceutical facilities
  • Experience leading teams of approximately eight designers and engineers
  • Experience with laboratory, process, sanitary, storm, domestic water, and specialty plumbing systems
  • Experience developing department standards, templates, and design workflows
  • Experience implementing design automation or workflow improvements
  • Experience coordinating plumbing systems with mechanical, electrical, architectural, structural, and process disciplines

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise a team of plumbing designers and engineers
  • Assign and prioritize plumbing design work across multiple projects
  • Perform plumbing design assignments for large pharmaceutical projects
  • Develop plumbing plans, riser diagrams, details, schedules, and technical documentation
  • Review plumbing calculations, drawings, specifications, and models
  • Provide technical guidance and design direction to project teams
  • Verify plumbing deliverables comply with project requirements, codes, standards, schedules, and budgets
  • Coordinate plumbing designs with other engineering and architectural disciplines
  • Monitor team workload, project progress, and design quality
  • Resolve technical design issues and support complex project requirements
  • Lead department initiatives related to standardization and design innovation
  • Develop and maintain plumbing design procedures, templates, and workflows
  • Support quality-control reviews and corrective design actions
  • Provide technical input during project planning, design development, and construction-document preparation
  • Maintain project documentation, design records, and revision control


Pay Details: $49.00 to $66.00 per hour
