Job Requirements

  • 3–15 years of progressive CAD drafting and design experience for process systems
  • Experience designing building mechanical systems for semiconductor, high-technology, or comparable facilities
  • Advanced proficiency with Revit
  • Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD
  • Extensive model-review experience using Navisworks
  • Experience developing mechanical plans, piping layouts, equipment layouts, schedules, and P&IDs
  • Experience designing wet-side or dry-side process systems
  • Knowledge of applicable mechanical, piping, fire-protection, and facility design codes and standards
  • Experience estimating design tasks, labor hours, and drafting effort
  • Ability to conduct field walks and verify existing conditions
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design packages and resolving model conflicts

Preferred Skills

  • Experience serving as a wet-side or dry-side lead designer on major programs
  • Experience training and mentoring junior designers
  • Experience with semiconductor tool-install design packages
  • Experience designing chemical, gas, HVAC, hydronic, and fire-protection systems
  • Experience preparing hook-up drawings and isometric installation views
  • Familiarity with tank and vessel design
  • Experience reviewing vendor submittals
  • Experience supporting design changes, cost-reduction initiatives, and manufacturability improvements
  • Experience performing punch-list inspections and as-built verification

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive 2D and Revit drawing packages in accordance with project and site standards
  • Create, update, and verify mechanical and chemical process-system designs
  • Develop piping layouts, equipment arrangements, schedules, and P&IDs
  • Route piping and define instrument, valve, and equipment locations
  • Prepare tool-install hook-up drawings
  • Develop gas-side and water-side flow diagrams for HVAC, hydronic, fire-protection, and process systems
  • Produce isometric views and custom installation details for complex project areas
  • Prepare models, plans, sections, details, sketches, flow diagrams, and equipment arrangement drawings
  • Coordinate designs with project engineers, coordinators, construction trades, and other technical disciplines
  • Resolve design conflicts involving other disciplines and existing field conditions
  • Review models using Navisworks and support clash-resolution activities
  • Conduct field walks, verify site conditions, and update drawings to reflect as-built installations
  • Perform punch-list walks and confirm completed work aligns with design intent
  • Support updates to existing systems for design changes, cost reductions, and manufacturability
  • Review vendor submittals and provide drafting support for engineered equipment and systems
  • Perform engineering drawing review, revision control, and document-control activities
  • Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions
  • Review project specifications and provide design-related edits and comments
  • Estimate drafting tasks, required labor hours, and design deliverables
  • Lead assigned wet-side or dry-side design activities
  • Provide technical direction and training to junior designers and project staff


Pay Details: $28.00 to $37.00 per hour
