Performs complex multi-axis CNC turning, setups, first-article production, and precision inspection for aerospace components manufactured from difficult-to-machine alloys.

Job Requirements

  • Approximately 10 years of CNC machining experience

  • Advanced CNC lathe machining experience using C-axis and Y-axis equipment

  • Experience with multi-axis CNC turning, live tooling, sub-spindles, and Y-axis machining

  • Experience using jaws of various sizes and 16C and 5C collets

  • Ability to perform complex machine setups

  • Experience producing and inspecting first-article components

  • Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge

  • Experience machining parts to tight tolerances

  • Experience machining difficult-to-cut alloys and heat-resistant aerospace materials

  • Working knowledge of AS9100, NADCAP, and FAA quality requirements

  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques

  • Experience troubleshooting CNC programs, tooling, setups, and machining processes

Preferred Skills

  • Experience operating Okuma CNC machines

  • Experience with Fanuc controls

  • Aerospace machining experience

  • Experience optimizing tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining sequences

  • Familiarity with first-article inspection documentation

  • Experience with in-process inspection and nonconformance documentation

Job Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate multi-axis CNC lathes

  • Perform turning operations using live tooling, sub-spindles, C-axis, and Y-axis capabilities

  • Install and configure jaws, collets, cutting tools, and workholding equipment

  • Complete complex setups according to engineering drawings and process documentation

  • Produce first-article components and verify conformance to requirements

  • Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T symbols, specifications, and machining instructions

  • Machine aerospace components from heat-resistant and difficult-to-cut alloys

  • Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments

  • Verify dimensions, tolerances, surface finishes, and feature locations

  • Adjust tooling, offsets, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters

  • Troubleshoot dimensional, tooling, programming, and machine-performance issues

  • Document inspection results and production data

  • Identify and report nonconforming parts or process conditions

  • Follow AS9100, NADCAP, FAA, and applicable manufacturing quality requirements

  • Maintain CNC equipment, tooling, and assigned work areas

 

Pay: 32-40/hr
