Elecrical I&C Engineer
Designs, analyzes, and supports electrical power and control systems for commercial nuclear and conventional power-generation facilities.
Job Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
Commercial nuclear power experience
Up to 7 years of relevant electrical or instrumentation and controls engineering experience
Knowledge of codes and standards applicable to nuclear and conventional power plants
Experience with electrical power generation and distribution systems
Experience designing or evaluating instrumentation and control systems
Experience performing electrical analysis, equipment protection studies, and equipment selection
Experience preparing engineering specifications, design changes, calculations, and drawing markups
Knowledge of transformers, breakers, switchgear, motors, motor control centers, generators, and related power-plant equipment
Experience supporting projects through conceptual design, detailed design, implementation, and closeout
Preferred Skills
Experience with control computers, PID controllers, distributed control systems, and programmable logic controllers
Knowledge of advanced control theory
Experience performing condition assessments for electrical and I&C equipment
Familiarity with cable sizing, cable selection, and electrical equipment coordination
Experience supporting equipment procurement and construction activities
Experience preparing technical reports, proposals, and engineering presentations
Knowledge of emerging electrical and I&C technologies and industry practices
Job Responsibilities
Develop conceptual and detailed designs for electrical and I&C systems
Provide technical input and direction throughout structured design processes
Perform condition assessments of plant electrical equipment and systems
Prepare equipment specifications, engineering calculations, design changes, and drawing markups
Design and assess transformers, breakers, switchgear, motors, motor control centers, generators, and related systems
Perform electrical system analysis and equipment protection evaluations
Select cables, electrical equipment, protective devices, and system components
Design, analyze, and assess control systems and associated equipment
Develop control solutions involving PID controllers, distributed control systems, programmable logic controllers, and control computers
Apply applicable nuclear, power-generation, electrical, and I&C codes and standards
Resolve technical issues affecting plant systems, equipment, and design requirements
Coordinate with construction, procurement, engineering, and utility stakeholders
Support projects from preliminary engineering through implementation and closeout
Evaluate plant or system problems and develop engineering solutions
Prepare technical reports, design documentation, proposals, and presentation materials
Maintain engineering designs in accordance with current technologies, codes, standards, and industry practices
Pay: 49-66/hr

Pay Details: $49.00 to $66.00 per hour
