Mechanical Engineer Entry Level
Designs, analyzes, and integrates reliable, cost-effective mechanical components and systems for new and existing heavy-duty vehicles.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field from an accredited program
- At least 6 months of related engineering experience, including internship experience
- Mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment and related systems
- Experience with a high-level CAD system
- Proficiency with 3D CAD design and modeling tools
- Experience applying root-cause analysis methodologies
- Experience with electro-mechanical system integration
- Hands-on experience with product testing, test laboratories, or hardware-in-the-loop testing environments
- Technical writing experience creating engineering documentation
- Familiarity with data-acquisition tools and post-processing techniques
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Creo or CATIA
- Experience with Windchill
- Experience designing heavy-duty vehicle components
- Familiarity with vehicle-level mechanical and electro-mechanical integration
- Experience developing test procedures and documenting test results
- Knowledge of component validation and design verification processes
Job Responsibilities
- Design functional, reliable, and cost-effective heavy-duty vehicle components
- Perform mechanical engineering analysis and design calculations
- Develop new components and redesign existing components
- Create and revise 3D CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings
- Integrate mechanical and electro-mechanical components into new and existing vehicle platforms
- Support vehicle-level and component-level design execution
- Conduct product testing and support laboratory or hardware-in-the-loop testing
- Analyze test data using data-acquisition and post-processing tools
- Perform root-cause investigations for component and system issues
- Prepare engineering specifications, test documentation, reports, and design records
- Maintain product data, CAD files, and engineering documentation in Windchill
- Support component verification, validation, troubleshooting, and design updates
Pay Details: $30.00 to $40.00 per hour
