Tool Crib Attendant
Manages cutting tools, fixtures, inventory records, tool setups, and job boxes for machining operations.
Job Requirements
- 2–4 years of tool crib attendant experience
- Tool grinding experience
- Experience with inventory management software
- Experience with order processing systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience reading tool lists and setup sheets
- Ability to inspect and measure cutting tools
- Ability to lift at least 30 pounds
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting CNC machining operations
- Knowledge of cutting tools, hand tools, fixtures, and fixturing components
- Experience preparing tool assemblies for production jobs
- Familiarity with tool wear, defect identification, and replacement requirements
- Experience creating and organizing machining job boxes
Job Responsibilities
- Receive, store, organize, and issue cutting tools, hand tools, fixtures, and related equipment
- Maintain accurate tool and fixture inventory records
- Update inventory levels in applicable computer systems
- Process tool orders and inventory transactions
- Set up tools according to tool lists and setup sheets
- Issue tools and fixtures to machinists
- Assist machinists with tool identification and availability
- Create and organize job boxes for production work
- Label fixtures, tooling, and job-specific materials
- Inspect tools for defects, damage, and wear
- Measure tools using applicable inspection equipment
- Identify tools requiring grinding, repair, or replacement
- Maintain tool crib storage areas and inventory locations
Pay Details: $20.00 to $23.00 per hour
