Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 6+ years of experience with mechanical or electromechanical design, analysis, testing, or manufacturing
  • Experience with hardware design and development for complex systems
  • Experience performing mechanical engineering analysis
  • Experience using CAD tools for mechanical design
  • Experience with FEA, CFD, or related engineering analysis methods
  • Experience performing hand calculations and validating designs through analytical and simulation methods
  • Experience developing production drawings
  • Experience with GD&T
  • Experience with tolerance stack-up analysis
  • Experience supporting product development from concept through production
  • Experience with design verification, qualification testing, production ramp-up, and field deployment

Preferred Skills

  • Aerospace or high-reliability hardware design experience
  • Strong foundation in statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, and materials
  • Creo experience
  • SolidWorks experience
  • Flotherm, FloEFD, or related CFD tool experience
  • Electronic board assembly design experience
  • Experience with mechanical integration, mounting strategies, and thermal management solutions for electronics
  • Working knowledge of chip-level, package-level, and board-level electronics integration
  • Knowledge of design for manufacturability and design for assembly principles
  • Familiarity with FAA certification processes
  • Familiarity with DO-160, FARs, or related regulatory standards
  • Aircraft systems or avionics hardware integration experience
  • RF, EMI, or EMC hardware design experience
  • Experience supporting high-rate production environments
  • Experience supporting in-house manufacturing lines
  • Knowledge of supply chain, production processes, and lifecycle management

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end hardware development from conceptual design through production and in-service operation
  • Own mechanical design, hardware verification, qualification testing, production ramp-up, and field deployment
  • Define design criteria and refine product requirements with cross-functional teams
  • Drive system-level optimization for aerospace hardware solutions
  • Perform engineering analyses using hand calculations, FEA, CFD, and CAD tools
  • Develop and refine design solutions to support system trade studies
  • Influence product direction through mechanical design analysis and trade studies
  • Lead design reviews
  • Partner with certification teams to qualify components and systems
  • Develop detailed production drawings using GD&T
  • Conduct tolerance stack-up analyses to support manufacturability and performance
  • Apply design for manufacturability principles to simplify designs
  • Reduce part count and process count where applicable
  • Implement error-proofing strategies in mechanical hardware designs
  • Establish and optimize product lifecycle processes from supply chain through final integration
  • Balance cost, quality, complexity, reliability, and performance during product development
  • Own product delivery timelines across concept, design, build, production, and service phases
  • Drive continuous improvements in hardware reliability and performance


Pay Details: $40.00 to $60.00 per hour
