Design Research Engineer
Battery Research Engineer responsible for designing experiments, analyzing battery material data, and supporting research initiatives for battery cell design, qualification, manufacturing, and material circularity.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required in one of the following:
Chemical Engineering
Chemistry
Mechanical Engineering
Related technical field
Experience designing experiments to test hypotheses
Experience analyzing test and experiment data
Experience applying scientific principles to design and manufacturing challenges
Working knowledge of Agile processes and methodologies
Experience managing research project schedules
Experience managing research project budgets
Experience managing research project direction
Experience communicating research findings and technology concepts to technical teams and management
Experience managing resources to support project initiatives and schedules
Battery materials research experience preferred
Battery cell design, qualification, or manufacturing experience preferred

Job Responsibilities
Design experiments to test research hypotheses
Conduct experiments to validate research concepts
Use Agile processes and methodologies to support sensing and research initiatives
Apply research principles to design and manufacturing challenges
Analyze scientific data from tests and experiments
Gather knowledge and technical understanding from research data
Communicate research results to technical team members
Communicate new technology concepts and ideas to management
Make research decisions within defined project mission and business requirements
Manage project resources for research initiatives
Maintain research project schedules
Track research project budgets
Oversee research project direction
Support battery material characterization activities
Support research related to battery manufacturing and rare earth metals
Support cathode and anode chemistry research
Support Lithium Iron Phosphate chemistry research
Support battery performance modeling
Support battery material recycling research
Support resource circularity research
Support new battery cell design
Support cell qualification activities
Support cell manufacturing research and process development
Pay: 31-42/hr

Pay Details: $31.00 to $42.00 per hour
