Business Development Scientist position focused on proteomics, biomarker strategy, protein analysis workflows, and customer-facing technical sales support.

Job Requirements

  • PhD in a life sciences discipline
  • Experience in proteomics, biomarker development, and biomarker program management
  • 5+ years of experience in protein analysis within academic and industrial environments
  • 2+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related customer-facing role
  • Experience interacting directly with customers in a technical or scientific capacity
  • Experience delivering scientific presentations
  • Proficiency in biomarker program development, identification strategies, and monitoring strategies
  • Previous biopharma industry experience in a technical role involving communication with senior stakeholders
  • Knowledge of end-detection technologies in protein analysis, including top-down and bottom-up proteomics

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in a biopharmaceutical environment
  • Basic bioinformatics skills
  • Experience customizing technical workflows or products for prospective clients
  • Experience using technical knowledge and market information to support sales funnel and revenue growth
  • Experience training sales professionals on scientific or technical subject matter

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and oversee a business development strategy focused on growth and customer engagement
  • Conduct industry research to identify business development opportunities
  • Apply technical knowledge to develop solutions for prospective clients
  • Position, customize, and promote protein analysis workflows and products to prospective clients
  • Manage relationships with new and existing customers
  • Use technical knowledge and market information to improve sales funnel activity and revenue performance
  • Monitor engagement and sales progress against business goals
  • Support training of sales professionals on technical workflows, products, and scientific applications
  • Participate in business meetings to provide updates to key stakeholders
  • Provide feedback to commercial team members on technical positioning, customer needs, and market opportunities


Pay Details: $150,000.00 to $160,000.00 per year
