Construction Quality Engineer
Construction Quality Engineer position focused on construction quality planning, site inspections, inspection test plans, non-conformance management, and project quality compliance.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Experience in QA/QC roles within the construction industry
- Understanding of construction materials, construction codes, and safety regulations
- Experience supporting construction quality across the project lifecycle
- Experience with inspection test plans, audit reports, quality records, and daily status reporting
- Experience identifying, documenting, and managing non-conformance reports
- Experience conducting site inspections and validating work against drawings and specifications
- Experience coordinating corrective actions with subcontractors or suppliers
Preferred Skills
- Experience with concrete and soil materials testing
- Experience inspecting underground utilities, surface utilities, system installation, site preparation, and site restoration activities
- Experience reviewing engineering designs and supporting pre-installation planning
- Experience with Supplier Corrective Action Reports and root cause/corrective action processes
- Experience contributing to contractor Statements of Work
- Experience working with supply chain, site operations, manufacturing, quality, engineering, business units, and external suppliers
Job Responsibilities
- Develop Construction Quality Plans for assigned projects
- Manage construction quality across the full project lifecycle
- Support quality activities during site surveys, engineering design reviews, pre-installation planning, and site preparation
- Inspect underground utilities, surface utilities, system installation, and site restoration work
- Perform risk assessments related to cost, schedule, and safety impacts
- Conduct weekly site inspections, including materials testing for concrete and soil
- Check structural elements against drawings and project specifications
- Validate borehole depth and borehole vertical alignment within required tolerance
- Validate sand quantity in each borehole
- Validate vault depth and trench depth
- Validate sensor system equipment installation and connections
- Create and maintain inspection test plans, audit reports, and quality records
- Write daily status reports during deployment
- Identify, document, and manage non-conformance reports
- Coordinate Supplier Corrective Action Reports with Supplier Quality Engineering
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions with subcontractors
- Ensure work complies with industry codes, safety regulations, and project specifications
- Collaborate on contractor Statements of Work development
- Resolve complex system-level issues with multidisciplinary teams
- Complete assigned quality projects
- Recommend suspension of supplier use when products may not meet customer, statutory, regulatory, or stakeholder requirements
Pay Details: $40.00 to $60.00 per hour
