Test Engineering Technician II responsible for performing environmental testing, hardware operation, inspection, fixture maintenance, and test support for aerospace mechanisms and spaceflight hardware.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 4+ years of relevant experience

  • Experience performing environmental testing of aerospace mechanisms

  • Experience using established test procedures

  • Experience operating spaceflight hardware

  • Experience operating test fixtures

  • Experience using data acquisition systems

  • Familiarity with aerospace assembly and inspection tools, including:

    • Torque wrenches

    • Load cells

    • Feeler gauges

    • Calipers

    • Multimeters

  • Experience assisting with technical work instructions related to environmental testing

  • Understanding of quality management systems, including AS9100

  • Experience handling small parts and fasteners, including #0-80 fasteners

  • Experience using electronics equipment, including:

    • Digital multimeters

    • Power supplies

    • Data acquisition equipment

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform environmental testing of aerospace mechanisms

  • Conduct static load testing

  • Conduct thermal vacuum testing

  • Conduct benchtop operation testing

  • Conduct separation testing

  • Conduct shock testing

  • Conduct vibration testing

  • Operate spaceflight hardware according to established procedures

  • Operate test fixtures using data acquisition systems

  • Attach components to spaceflight hardware

  • Remove components from spaceflight hardware

  • Inspect mechanical components after test completion

  • Inspect electrical components after test completion

  • Perform maintenance on test fixtures

  • Support process improvement idea generation

  • Assist with non-conformance investigations

  • Follow test procedures for aerospace hardware

  • Execute environmental test work instructions

  • Use aerospace assembly and inspection tools during test activities

  • Use electronics equipment to support hardware testing

  • Support prototype production testing as required

Pay: 28-34/hr

Pay Details: $28.00 to $34.00 per hour
