Engineering Test Engineer responsible for supporting engineering development, qualification testing, technical documentation, and laboratory testing for aerospace, defense, and electromechanical systems.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical discipline

  • 0 to 5 years of engineering or engineering test experience

  • Ability to read engineering drawings

  • Ability to read procedures and technical documentation

  • Experience or ability to work in laboratory test facilities

  • Experience or ability to work in environmental test facilities

  • Ability to reside within commuting distance of Bohemia, New York, or relocate before assignment start

  • Ability to travel to Baton Rouge, Louisiana for initial product training and occasional engineering reviews

  • Ability to travel less than 10%

  • U.S. citizenship required

Job Responsibilities

  • Support engineering development testing

  • Support qualification testing activities

  • Read and apply engineering drawings, procedures, and technical documentation

  • Perform testing in laboratory environments

  • Perform testing in environmental test facilities

  • Support aerospace or defense hardware testing as required

  • Use instrumentation during engineering and qualification testing

  • Support data collection using thermocouples, pressure transducers, flow meters, power analyzers, tachometers, and data acquisition systems

  • Support test setup, execution, and documentation

  • Prepare technical reports

  • Prepare discrepancy reports

  • Prepare engineering documentation

  • Support configuration management activities

  • Support engineering change processes

  • Assist with testing of electromechanical systems, motors, fans, compressors, refrigeration systems, and environmental control systems

  • Travel for initial product training and occasional engineering reviews as required

Pay: 40-60/hr

Pay Details: $40.00 to $60.00 per hour
