Quality Assurance Engineer responsible for supporting composite product quality through First Article Inspection, blueprint ballooning, inspection traceability, and non-conformance management.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or comparable experience
  • 7+ years of Quality Assurance Engineering experience
  • Composite materials quality experience preferred
  • First Article Inspection experience
  • AS9102 First Article Inspection experience preferred
  • Material Review Board experience
  • Blueprint ballooning experience
  • Experience managing non-conforming materials
  • Experience documenting defects and submitting MRB tickets
  • Experience investigating root causes for composite failures
  • Experience determining material dispositions, including:
    • Use-As-Is
    • Rework
    • Scrap

Preferred Skills

  • Aerospace composite product experience
  • Commercial composite product experience
  • Thermoset composite experience
  • Thermoplastic composite experience
  • CMM report experience
  • PC-DMIS experience
  • DISCUS experience
  • InspectionXpert experience
  • Composite documentation experience, including:
    • Ply books
    • Cure charts
  • Experience mapping engineering callouts to inspection reports
  • Experience completing FAI Forms 1, 2, and 3

Job Responsibilities

  • Support quality assurance for composite products used in aerospace and commercial applications
  • Create ballooned or bubbled drawings from engineering blueprints
  • Assign unique identifiers to critical dimensions and tolerances on blueprints
  • Map engineering callouts directly to inspection reports
  • Maintain full traceability between blueprint requirements and inspection results
  • Perform First Article Inspection for new or revised composite parts
  • Complete FAI documentation according to applicable standards
  • Complete required FAI paperwork, including Forms 1, 2, and 3
  • Act as official witness for FAI runs
  • Manage non-conforming materials
  • Document composite defects
  • Submit Material Review Board tickets
  • Investigate root causes for composite failures
  • Determine non-conforming material dispositions
  • Support mitigation of quality issues related to composite parts


Pay Details: $40.00 to $60.00 per hour
