Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for creating 2D and 3D designs, routing systems, and manufacturing-ready models using CATIA V6.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 6+ years of relevant design engineering experience

  • CATIA V6 proficiency

  • Solid modeling experience

  • Experience creating 2D drawings

  • Experience interpreting 2D drawings

  • Experience creating 3D models

  • Experience with design intent and robust modeling practices

  • Experience creating models that can withstand major design revisions

  • GD&T awareness

  • PLM experience

  • Understanding of design for manufacturability

  • Experience creating and interpreting basic CAE models, including:

    • Stiffness models

    • Natural frequency models

Preferred Skills

  • Surface modeling experience

  • Previous hose routing experience

  • Previous pipe routing experience

  • Harness routing experience

  • Cable routing experience

  • Experience applying new engineering standards and methodologies

  • Experience with routed systems design

  • Experience with manufacturing-focused mechanical design

Job Responsibilities

  • Create 2D drawings for mechanical design projects

  • Create 3D models using CATIA V6

  • Develop solid models with revision-ready design intent

  • Interpret engineering drawings and technical design requirements

  • Apply GD&T awareness to design and drawing work

  • Support hose, pipe, harness, and cable routing design

  • Use PLM systems to manage design data and documentation

  • Apply design for manufacturability principles to model and drawing development

  • Create basic CAE models for stiffness, natural frequency, and related design analysis

  • Interpret basic CAE model results for design support

  • Apply required engineering standards and methodologies to design work

Pay: 29-39/hr

Pay Details: $29.00 to $39.00 per hour
