AutoCAD Administrator

CAD Administrator responsible for AutoCAD strategy, CAD standards, platform administration, customization, automation, data management, and enterprise CAD/BIM support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Drafting, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of professional AutoCAD experience
• Advanced AutoCAD experience
• 3–5+ years of CAD administration or CAD leadership experience
• Expertise in AutoCAD configuration
• Expertise in AutoCAD customization
• Experience developing CAD standards
• Experience with Autodesk ecosystem tools, including Civil 3D, Revit, MEP, Inventor, and Navisworks
• Programming or scripting experience with AutoLISP, VBA, .NET, or Python
• Experience with enterprise deployment tools
• Experience with cloud collaboration platforms
• Experience leading CAD/BIM teams
• Experience leading enterprise standardization initiatives

Preferred Skills

• Experience with BIM workflows
• Experience with digital twin concepts
• Experience with PLM systems
• Experience with Autodesk Vault
• Experience with ACC/Forma
• Experience integrating CAD systems with PLM, BIM, or document management systems
• Experience evaluating and deploying third-party CAD tools and integrations
• Experience supporting digital transformation initiatives involving design data

Responsibilities

• Define and lead CAD strategy, roadmap, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Establish CAD standards, governance models, and best practices
• Oversee installation, configuration, upgrades, and lifecycle management of AutoCAD and related platforms
• Manage enterprise licensing, network deployments, and cloud integrations
• Monitor CAD system performance
• Implement improvements for scalability and reliability
• Lead troubleshooting for complex CAD system issues
• Coordinate CAD system support with IT and vendors
• Develop, maintain, and enforce CAD standards, templates, and libraries
• Ensure compliance with industry standards
• Conduct CAD audits for quality, consistency, and standards adherence
• Govern version control, documentation practices, and release management
• Design and implement AutoCAD customizations using AutoLISP, .NET, scripts, and APIs
• Automate repetitive CAD workflows
• Evaluate and deploy third-party tools and integrations
• Enhance CAD environments to support project requirements
• Lead CAD data management strategy, including file structures, naming conventions, and archival processes
• Integrate CAD systems with PLM, BIM, or document management systems
• Ensure CAD data integrity, security, and accessibility across teams
• Support digital transformation initiatives involving design data
• Provide expert-level support for complex CAD issues
• Develop and deliver advanced CAD training programs and workshops
• Create documentation, standards manuals, and training content
• Support adoption of CAD standards and new tools
• Support large-scale or high-impact projects requiring advanced CAD coordination

Pay Details: $35.00 to $46.00 per hour
