Mechanical Parts Cost Estimator responsible for preparing CNC machining cost estimates based on blueprints, material requirements, machining time, subcontract services, and production planning needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with mechanical parts cost estimation for CNC machining
  • CNC machine shop background
  • Experience in a stand-alone CNC machine shop or CNC machining department within a larger manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM software
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Experience reviewing customer blueprints and requirements
  • Experience estimating machining time, raw materials, and subcontract services
  • Experience reviewing quotes

Preferred Skills

  • GD&T knowledge
  • Experience estimating precision machined parts
  • Experience preparing estimates for planning, lead times, and production scheduling

Responsibilities

  • Review customer blueprints and requirements for CNC machined parts
  • Estimate machining time required to produce precision machined parts
  • Estimate raw material requirements
  • Estimate subcontract service requirements
  • Prepare cost estimates for planning, lead times, and scheduling work
  • Review quotes related to CNC machining work
  • Consult with customers, vendors, and internal personnel to resolve estimate-related issues
  • Interact with engineers and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates


Pay Details: $60,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year
