Composite manufacturing engineering role responsible for composite fabrication process development, tooling support, production troubleshooting, manufacturing documentation, process improvement, and equipment qualification planning.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • Applicable experience in composites, aerospace, or related manufacturing environments
  • Experience improving production processes for thermoset or thermoplastic composite materials
  • Experience developing, evaluating, and improving composite manufacturing processes, methods, and equipment
  • Experience interpreting drawings, CAD models, and engineering specifications
  • Experience using CAD for manufacturing tooling or fixtures
  • Experience applying engineering principles to fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials selection
  • Experience creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation
  • Experience developing work instructions and bills of material
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or root cause analysis
  • Experience developing process or equipment qualification plans

Preferred Skills

  • Strong composites manufacturing experience
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience
  • Experience supporting composite part fabrication
  • Experience designing or modifying manufacturing tooling and fixtures
  • Experience training operators on composite manufacturing processes
  • Experience optimizing production processes for cost, quality, and defect reduction

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, evaluate, and improve composite manufacturing processes, methods, and equipment
  • Support composite part fabrication activities
  • Use CAD to support manufacturing tooling and fixture development
  • Apply engineering knowledge to fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials selection
  • Interpret drawings, CAD models, and engineering specifications for manufacturing use
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and bills of material
  • Support production through troubleshooting and process optimization
  • Train operators on manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Improve production processes for thermoset and thermoplastic composite materials
  • Support cost efficiency improvements across composite manufacturing operations
  • Support defect remediation and root cause analysis activities
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methods to process improvement efforts
  • Develop process qualification plans
  • Develop equipment qualification plans


Pay Details: $40.00 to $60.00 per hour
