Electrical engineering role responsible for electrical design, power distribution systems, construction documentation, electrical modeling, equipment specification, and plant or facility project support.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • 1 to 20 years of relevant experience in plant or facility electrical design
  • Knowledge of electrical power generation, distribution, protection, and related control systems
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Knowledge of NEC, ANSI, and IEEE standards
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and AutoCAD
  • Experience with data analysis
  • Experience preparing construction drawings and technical documents
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and electrical safety practices
  • Experience recognizing and following safety requirements in engineering or design environments

Preferred Skills

  • Experience using electrical analysis tools such as ETAP, SKM, PLS-CAD, or EMTP
  • Experience using AmpCalc or ATP
  • Overhead line design experience
  • Power generation design experience
  • Mine design experience
  • Experience with feasibility studies
  • Experience with equipment selection, specification, and procurement
  • Experience developing electrical models and reports

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical designs for miscellaneous plant, facility, or infrastructure projects
  • Develop electrical power generation, distribution, protection, and related control systems
  • Prepare construction drawings and documents
  • Develop equipment location plans
  • Develop interconnect wiring diagrams and wiring schematics
  • Develop cable and tray layouts
  • Develop equipment support details
  • Prepare cable schedules and lighting layouts
  • Develop electrical models and reports using modeling software packages
  • Participate in feasibility studies
  • Support equipment selection, equipment specification, and procurement activities
  • Support design drawing development
  • Coordinate with engineering team members, clients, and vendors
  • Review and apply guidance from engineers and designers during project execution
  • Apply applicable codes, standards, and safety practices to electrical design work


Pay Details: $49.00 to $66.00 per hour
