Mechanical Design Engineer

Mechanical design role focused on Creo design, welding and assembly positioners, jigs, fixtures, structural steel, weldments, and industrial machinery.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred

• Associate degree with relevant experience may be considered

• Creo software experience

• 2–3 years of mechanical design experience

• 1–2 years of engineering experience with capital equipment or industrial machinery

• Experience with structural steel design

• Experience with weldments

• Experience with industrial motion systems

• Experience with mechanical power transmission

• Experience preparing layout and detail drawings

Preferred Skills

• Creo 5.0 or newer experience

• Windchill experience

• PDM system experience

• Experience designing welding positioners

• Experience designing assembly positioners

• Experience designing jigs and fixtures

• Experience reviewing engineering blueprints, tool orders, and shop data

• Experience resolving design issues related to materials, tolerances, service requirements, manufacturing procedures, and cost

Job Responsibilities

• Design welding and assembly positioners

• Design related jigs and fixtures

• Review specifications, engineering blueprints, tool orders, and shop data

• Support mechanical design for capital equipment and industrial machinery

• Create preliminary sketches

• Prepare layout drawings

• Prepare detail drawings

• Coordinate with engineering, service, and shop personnel to resolve design problems

• Address design issues related to material characteristics, dimensional tolerances, service requirements, manufacturing procedures, and cost

Pay: 33-45/hr

Pay Details: $33.00 to $45.00 per hour
