Electrical and I&C estimating role focused on conceptual and detailed construction cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, cost models, risk analysis, and project deliverables.
Job Requirements
- 10+ years of electrical estimating experience
- 10+ years of instrumentation and controls estimating experience
- Experience in a related industry
- Microsoft Project experience
- PDF editor software experience
- Bluebeam experience
- Ability to read and interpret electrical specifications
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
- Experience performing quantity surveys from available documents
- Experience applying cost factors to calculate unit pricing
- Conceptual estimating experience
- Working knowledge of electrical codes
- Working knowledge of instrumentation and controls codes
- Experience developing work breakdown structures for complex projects
- Experience writing Basis of Estimate documents
Preferred Skills
- Oil and gas industry experience
- Hard bid general contractor estimating experience
- Experience with construction of electrical installations
- Sage Estimating software experience
- Experience with civil construction systems
- Experience with structural construction systems
- Experience with architectural construction systems
- Experience preparing historical cost data
- Experience supporting risk analysis, value engineering, and constructability exercises
Job Responsibilities
- Develop conceptual construction cost estimates for electrical systems
- Develop detailed construction cost estimates for electrical systems
- Develop conceptual construction cost estimates for instrumentation and controls systems
- Develop detailed construction cost estimates for instrumentation and controls systems
- Interpret plans and specifications across program, conceptual, design development, construction document, and change order phases
- Generate quantity takeoffs for electrical and I&C systems
- Generate pricing using labor rates, production rates, material pricing schedules, and historical data
- Develop work breakdown structures for complex projects
- Prepare Basis of Estimate documents describing methodology and assumptions
- Collect cost data from functional representatives, subcontractors, and vendors
- Track construction market trends and estimating impacts
- Contribute to risk analysis, value engineering, and constructability reviews
- Prepare and maintain historical cost data
- Create cost models for estimating elements
- Assist lead estimator with reporting functions
- Assemble project estimating deliverables
Pay Details: $40.00 to $54.00 per hour
