Electrical Engineer responsible for electrical system architecture, design, documentation, testing, troubleshooting, and floor-level support for power and control systems used in large-scale equipment.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related technical field

  • U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status required

  • Ability to work 100% onsite in Westborough, MA

  • Electrical engineering experience involving system engineering, design engineering, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting

  • Experience with AC and DC distribution systems

  • Experience with transformers, Generator Step-Up transformers, Generator Circuit Breakers, Unit and Common Station Service Transformers, Power Circuit Breakers, Motor Control Centers, HV and EHV systems, bus systems, batteries, chargers, inverters, disconnects, distribution boards, and related control and protective relaying subsystems

  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical for schematics and component layout

  • Familiarity with electrical codes, compliance requirements, and industry standards

  • Experience designing electrical systems for power distribution, control cabinets, machine control panels, or capital equipment

  • Experience creating electrical system documentation, including schematics, block diagrams, enclosure layouts, wiring diagrams, wire run lists, cable drawings, and bills of material

  • Experience supporting Engineering Change Orders

  • Ability to support hands-on floor-level troubleshooting, assembly review, and design changes during fabrication or panel assembly

Preferred Skills

  • PLC programming tool experience

  • Experience integrating PLCs into machine control panels

  • Experience with factory automation equipment

  • Experience with laboratory processing equipment

  • Experience with skid-based power storage solutions

  • Experience with high-amperage, three-phase power systems

  • Experience with IEEE standards, NEC, NRC Regulatory Guides, IERS, EPRI Technical Reports, INPO SOERs, UL, NFPA, CSA, FCC, CE, or related compliance requirements

  • Experience interfacing with compliance laboratories

  • Experience supporting fabrication, assembly, test, and debug activities

Job Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems for power and control cabinets, factory automation equipment, laboratory processing equipment, and skid-based power storage systems

  • Develop electrical architecture, component selection, layouts, test plans, and debug activities

  • Design and debug power distribution systems for capital equipment

  • Integrate PLCs into machine control panels

  • Implement, troubleshoot, and test PLC logic as needed

  • Create and maintain electrical system documentation, including schematics, block diagrams, enclosure and component layouts, wiring diagrams, wire run lists, cable drawings, and bills of material

  • Execute Engineering Change Orders related to electrical systems and documentation

  • Use AutoCAD Electrical to develop schematics, layouts, and related design documentation

  • Support electrical design compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements

  • Troubleshoot AC and DC distribution systems, controls, relays, panels, and related electrical hardware

  • Support panel assembly oversight and fabrication floor activities

  • Provide real-time design updates and technical guidance during build, assembly, test, and troubleshooting activities

  • Work with fabrication and assembly teams to resolve wiring, panel layout, cable routing, and control system issues

Pay: 56-75/hr

Pay Details: $56.00 to $75.00 per hour
