Electrical Power Systems Engineer responsible for vehicle power system design, hybrid electric architecture development, modeling, simulation, integration, testing, and troubleshooting.
Job Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree required
- Ability to work 100% onsite
- 10+ years of experience with electrical power systems for military or automotive vehicles
- Experience with power generation, power distribution, power management, and energy storage systems
- Experience with electrical power system specifications, development, design, testing, integration, and troubleshooting
- Experience with vehicle electrical power systems and associated hardware components
- Strong knowledge of hybrid electrical architectures
- Experience integrating systems with multiple voltage levels
- Strong background in modeling and simulation of electrical systems
- Experience with model-generated coding applications
- Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, Ansys, or related modeling tools
- Experience translating system requirements into validation test procedures and use cases
Preferred Skills
- Experience with HIL and SIL bench-level testing
- Experience using Vector testing tools, including CANalyzer, CANoe, and CAPL
- Knowledge of J1939 CAN Bus
- Experience with military vehicle design, development, and integration
- Experience with defense department processes and documentation standards
- Experience with version control systems such as Git
- Experience with issue tracking systems such as Jira
- Experience with collaboration tools such as Confluence
- Familiarity with Agile development methodology
- Familiarity with Teamcenter and VisMockup
- Experience with hybrid electric systems, HV batteries, e-motors, power electronics, and related architectures
Job Responsibilities
- Lead electrical power system design and development efforts for advanced vehicle capabilities
- Support power subsystem design and integration activities
- Make power system architecture decisions for vehicle platforms
- Conduct advanced technology trade studies related to electrical power systems
- Work with internal teams, vendors, and partners to integrate systems and subsystems onto vehicle platforms
- Develop CAE models for complex hybrid electric systems
- Model and integrate HV batteries, integrated starter generators, e-motors, DC/DC converters, and power distribution devices
- Integrate CAE models into power subsystem models to evaluate dynamic system performance
- Evaluate system performance across drive cycles, tolerances, loading profiles, environmental conditions, and road load conditions
- Perform component and system sizing analysis based on customer requirements
- Translate feature and system requirements into validation test procedures and use cases
- Provide technical direction for team members, including technology roadmaps and mentorship
- Develop and approve technical documentation, including SSDD, SRS, CAN ICDs, and related implementation artifacts
- Support power hardware production teams with documentation and technical guidance
- Participate in internal and customer demonstrations
- Work with cross-functional engineering teams to evaluate interfaces, use cases, drive cycle profiles, operational performance requirements, and overall system design
- Participate in peer reviews and identify, track, and assess defect solutions
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies in hybrid electric systems, power electronics, architectures, methodologies, and integration strategies
Pay Details: $53.00 to $70.00 per hour
