SAS Developer responsible for SAS programming, data manipulation, relational database work, requirements analysis, application development, system testing, and technical documentation.

Job Requirements

  • 7 or more years of experience writing SAS program source code

  • 5 or more years of experience performing data manipulation with text, SAS datasets, and relational database tables

  • 5 or more years of experience with at least one relational database, such as Sybase or Oracle

  • 5 or more years of experience gathering and analyzing requirements

  • 5 or more years of experience designing and developing applications in SAS

  • 5 or more years of system testing experience, including test planning, test execution, test data development, and testing documentation

  • 3 or more years of experience with at least one development methodology

  • 3 or more years of experience analyzing applications or multi-module systems

  • Base SAS experience, including data step processing, functions and call routines, formats, and informats

  • SAS Macros experience

  • SAS Procedures experience, including Print, Freq, Univariate, Format, Means, Append, and Datasets

  • Experience creating SAS reports using Proc Report, Proc Tabulate, and ODS

  • SAS SQL experience

  • Experience producing program specifications

  • Experience translating design specifications into computer program instructions

  • Experience preparing test plans and conducting tests

Preferred Skills

  • SAS Access experience with products such as Sybase, Oracle, or PC Files

  • AppDev Studio experience

  • SAS Integration Technologies experience

  • SAS Enterprise Guide experience

  • SAS Management Console experience

  • Metadata Server experience

  • Workspace Server experience

  • Experience working with complex relational database environments

Job Responsibilities

  • Write, maintain, and troubleshoot SAS program source code

  • Perform data manipulation using text files, SAS datasets, and relational database tables

  • Develop SAS applications based on gathered and analyzed requirements

  • Use Base SAS, SAS Macros, SAS Procedures, and SAS SQL to support application and reporting needs

  • Create SAS reports using Proc Report, Proc Tabulate, and ODS

  • Access and process data from relational databases and external products as required

  • Analyze applications and multi-module systems

  • Produce program specifications and technical documentation

  • Translate design specifications into SAS program instructions

  • Prepare test plans for SAS applications and system changes

  • Develop test data and execute system testing

  • Document testing activities, results, and defects

  • Support development methodology requirements throughout the application lifecycle

  • Work with relational databases such as Sybase, Oracle, or similar systems

Pay: 31-42/hr

Pay Details: $31.00 to $42.00 per hour
