Designs custom automation machinery and mechanical systems using 3D CAD tools while supporting engineering development from concept through implementation.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline from an accredited program.
  • Associate degree from an ABET/EAC-accredited program may be considered with applicable experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working as a Mechanical Engineer.
  • Experience designing custom automation machinery.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks.
  • Experience developing mechanical components, assemblies, and machine layouts.
  • Experience creating engineering drawings and design documentation.
  • Knowledge of mechanical design principles for automated equipment.

Preferred Skills

  • Autodesk Inventor experience.
  • FE Exam completion or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
  • Experience designing tooling, fixtures, or machine components.
  • Experience with industrial automation equipment.
  • Experience supporting equipment fabrication, assembly, installation, or commissioning.
  • Experience with mechanical system troubleshooting and design modifications.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design custom automation machinery and mechanical systems.
  • Develop 3D CAD models, assemblies, and machine layouts using SolidWorks or Inventor.
  • Create detailed engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
  • Design mechanical components, structures, tooling, and fixtures for automated equipment.
  • Support mechanical design activities from concept development through final implementation.
  • Review designs for manufacturability, functionality, and applicable engineering requirements.
  • Coordinate mechanical designs with controls, electrical, manufacturing, and assembly requirements.
  • Support fabrication, assembly, installation, and startup of custom automation equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical design and equipment issues.
  • Revise designs and engineering documentation based on testing, manufacturing, and project requirements.


Pay Details: $36.00 to $48.00 per hour
