Job Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of mechanical design experience
  • Recent professional experience using SolidWorks
  • Experience designing custom automation machinery
  • Experience developing equipment for industrial manufacturing or automotive applications
  • Experience creating 3D models, assemblies, and production drawings
  • Knowledge of mechanical components, machine frames, guarding, tooling, and motion systems
  • Ability to interpret engineering specifications and manufacturing requirements

Preferred Skills

  • Experience using Autodesk Inventor
  • Experience designing automated assembly, material-handling, or production equipment
  • Experience with industrial manufacturing systems
  • Experience with automotive manufacturing equipment
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Experience supporting equipment fabrication, assembly, installation, and commissioning
  • Experience creating bills of materials

Job Responsibilities

  • Design custom automated machinery and manufacturing equipment
  • Develop detailed 3D models and mechanical assemblies
  • Create fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of materials
  • Select mechanical components and machine hardware
  • Design machine frames, fixtures, guarding, tooling, and equipment interfaces
  • Review designs for manufacturability, assembly, maintenance, and equipment integration
  • Revise designs based on fabrication, assembly, and testing results
  • Support manufacturing and equipment-build activities
  • Maintain engineering drawings and design documentation


Pay Details: $42.00 to $57.00 per hour
