Controls Engineer (Siemens and Allen Bradley)
Commissions and validates PLC-controlled automation systems integrating robotics, vision, motion, dispensing, pneumatic, and industrial communication technologies.
Job Requirements
- Siemens PLC commissioning experience
- Allen-Bradley PLC commissioning experience
- Experience troubleshooting Ladder Logic and Statement List programming
- Experience validating and configuring industrial I/O and control devices
- Experience with stepper motors, servo systems, pneumatic cylinders, valves, vacuum generators, sensors, and actuators
- Experience validating communication between PLCs
- Knowledge of Profinet, Anybus, and EtherNet/IP communication protocols
- Experience reading electrical schematics and control-panel drawings
- Experience troubleshooting low-voltage and high-voltage control cabinets
- Experience performing mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
- Experience with industrial state-machine logic
- Experience integrating PLCs with robots, vision systems, and automated equipment
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Siemens S7 or comparable Siemens automation platforms
- Experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix or CompactLogix platforms
- Experience with SAP or Manufacturing Operating System communications
- Experience with automotive or high-volume manufacturing automation
- Experience with Tesla-specific state machines or automation standards
- Experience with Keyence 3D vision systems
- Experience with profilometers using XG-X controllers
- Experience with FANUC robots and FANUC iRVision
- Experience with automated adhesive, sealant, or two-part dispense systems
- Experience with servo-driven rotary equipment and dispense heads
- Experience supporting equipment startup, production launch, and customer acceptance
Job Responsibilities
- Commission Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLC-controlled automation equipment
- Power on and validate automated machinery and control systems
- Troubleshoot Ladder Logic and Statement List programs
- Validate PLC state-machine sequences and equipment operating modes
- Configure and verify digital, analog, and networked I/O
- Validate sensors, actuators, light curtains, motors, servos, pneumatic devices, and vacuum systems
- Configure and troubleshoot Profinet, Anybus, and EtherNet/IP communications
- Validate communication and data exchange between PLCs
- Integrate PLCs with manufacturing systems and production software
- Configure and validate Keyence 3D vision applications
- Set up and validate profilometer systems using XG-X controllers
- Power on, master, and commission FANUC robots
- Perform robot internal I/O checks
- Validate communications between FANUC robots and PLCs
- Touch up robot positions and motion points
- Validate robot and PLC handshakes
- Configure and validate FANUC iRVision applications
- Commission pneumatic pump and automated dispensing systems
- Configure servo-driven rotors and dispense heads
- Validate controlled two-part material dispensing processes
- Troubleshoot low-voltage and high-voltage electrical cabinets
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, network, motion, vision, and controls issues
- Review electrical prints, I/O documentation, network drawings, and system specifications
- Support equipment startup, debug, cycle testing, and production validation
- Document software changes, test results, faults, and commissioning status
Pay Details: $40.00 to $60.00 per hour
