Controls Engineer
Develops, commissions, and troubleshoots Rockwell-based control systems for large-scale industrial automation and automotive manufacturing applications.
Job Requirements
- 7–10 years of controls engineering experience in industrial automation, manufacturing, or automotive environments
- Experience developing, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting automated manufacturing systems
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Rockwell Automation PLC platforms
- Proficiency with ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and GuardLogix
- Proficiency with Studio 5000 Logix Designer
- Experience developing FactoryTalk View SE and ME applications
- Experience with HMI development
- Experience integrating motion-control systems, servo drives, and variable-frequency drives
- Experience developing and commissioning Rockwell Safety PLC applications
- Knowledge of safety interlocks, safety devices, and machine-safety validation
- Experience leading large-scale controls and automation projects
- Experience managing concurrent engineering, commissioning, and production-support activities
Preferred Skills
- Automotive manufacturing experience
- Familiarity with GM GCCS standards
- Familiarity with Ford GVOSS standards
- Experience with Siemens TIA Portal and STEP 7
- Experience with Siemens S7-1200 and S7-1500 PLCs
- Experience with WinCC
- Knowledge of Profinet networks
- Experience with Siemens Safety Integrated systems
- Experience programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting Siemens PLC platforms
Job Responsibilities
- Develop PLC programs for automated manufacturing equipment
- Program and configure ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and GuardLogix systems
- Develop HMI applications using FactoryTalk View SE and ME
- Integrate servo drives, variable-frequency drives, and motion-control systems
- Develop and validate machine-safety logic, interlocks, and safety-device interfaces
- Commission automated equipment from initial startup through production acceptance
- Troubleshoot PLC logic, HMI applications, networks, drives, motion systems, and field devices
- Lead controls engineering activities for large-scale automation projects
- Support equipment installation, startup, debugging, launch, and production stabilization
- Review controls architecture, electrical designs, software standards, and system requirements
- Optimize machine performance, cycle time, reliability, and control-system operation
- Document PLC programs, HMI configurations, safety validation results, and system changes
- Apply automotive controls standards when required
- Support Siemens-based automation systems when applicable
Pay Details: $51.00 to $69.00 per hour
