Toolroom Machinist / Mechanical Assembler responsible for machining, mechanical assembly, and supporting projects from component fabrication through final build and installation.

Job Requirements

  • Experience with manual machining, CNC machining, mechanical assembly, or a combination of these areas.

  • Experience manufacturing parts in a toolroom or machine shop environment.

  • Experience assembling mechanical equipment, tooling, fixtures, or related systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and fabrication documentation.

  • Experience supporting projects from initial fabrication through final assembly.

  • Experience coordinating work with CNC operators, welders, electricians, plumbers, and other skilled trades.

  • Experience using standard machinist and mechanical assembly tools.

  • Ability to provide and maintain required personal hand tools and toolboxes.

  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical fit, alignment, and assembly issues.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong background in both machining and mechanical assembly.

  • Experience with manual mills, lathes, grinders, or related machine tools.

  • Experience supporting custom machinery, tooling, fixtures, or automated equipment builds.

  • Experience with welding or fabricated components.

  • Experience leading or directing less-experienced technicians on larger projects.

  • Experience working directly with project managers and technical trades during equipment builds.

  • Candidates with a strong background in either machining or mechanical assembly may also be considered.

Job Responsibilities

  • Machine components and parts in the toolroom as required for assigned projects.

  • Assemble mechanical systems, tooling, fixtures, and equipment.

  • Support projects from initial component fabrication through final assembly and completion.

  • Review drawings and specifications before machining or assembly.

  • Coordinate fabrication and assembly activities with CNC operators, welders, electricians, plumbers, and other technical personnel.

  • Work with project management to support project schedules and build requirements.

  • Inspect machined and assembled components for fit and dimensional compliance.

  • Perform mechanical adjustments, modifications, and rework as required.

  • Troubleshoot machining and assembly issues during project execution.

  • Track project components through machining, fabrication, and assembly stages.

  • Provide technical direction to less-experienced personnel on larger projects.

  • Maintain and use personal machinist and assembly tools required for assigned work.

Pay: 30-35/hr

Pay Details: $30.00 to $35.00 per hour
