Turret Operators

Operates and sets up turret punch press equipment to punch holes, create layout marks, and process metal sheets, plates, strips, and bars according to machine charts, blueprints, and specified dimensions.

Job Requirements

• Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent education.

• Six months to one year of related manufacturing or machine operation experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience operating or setting up turret punch press equipment.

• Ability to read and follow machine setting charts.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

• Knowledge of shop mathematics.

• Experience using measuring and setup tools such as micrometers, feeler gauges, squares, scales, shims, and setscrews.

• Basic computer skills.

• Experience using Microsoft Outlook or another email platform.

Preferred Skills

• Experience calculating or developing punch charts from blueprints.

• Experience working with metal sheets, plates, strips, and bars.

• Experience performing machine setup and dimensional adjustments.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate turret punch press equipment to punch holes and create layout marks in metal materials.

• Insert, align, and lock punches and dies into the turret using appropriate setup tools.

• Align workpieces to machine scales and end gauges and secure materials to the machine table.

• Position the turret to the specified punch and die.

• Set forward and lateral machine scales to required dimensions.

• Configure and operate machine settings according to specified charts.

• Position center punches and create layout lines on metal plates.

• Calculate punch charts from blueprints using shop mathematics, squares, and scales as required.

• Verify machine setup and dimensions using measuring tools.

Pay: 22-24/hr

Pay Details: $22.00 to $26.00 per hour
