Lab Technician

Laboratory Technician responsible for testing elastomer materials and finished products, supporting product qualification, troubleshooting material performance, and maintaining laboratory equipment and test documentation.

Job Requirements

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent manufacturing experience.
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with rubber processing and/or mechanical testing.
• Ability to follow MIL and ASTM test procedures.
• Experience with laboratory testing of raw materials and finished products.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to learn and operate laboratory equipment and associated software.

Preferred Skills

• Rubber manufacturing experience.
• Elastomer material testing experience.
• Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or medical products.
• Experience developing and executing standardized laboratory test procedures.
• Experience with the following equipment:
  • Rubber molding press.
  • Two-roll mill.
  • Air recirculating oven.
  • Temperature chamber.
  • Rubber process analyzer.
  • Densimeter.
  • Durometer gauge.
  • Instron Universal Test Stand.
  • Low-temperature brittleness tester.
  • Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer (DMA).
  • Electrodynamic shaker system.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop detailed test plans for raw material and finished-part mechanical testing.
• Execute laboratory test plans using onsite test equipment.
• Coordinate external laboratory testing when required.
• Analyze test data and generate technical test reports.
• Perform laboratory testing to characterize elastomer materials and finished products.
• Support troubleshooting of material and product performance issues.
• Support development and qualification of new products.
• Validate quality control parameters for existing products.
• Monitor laboratory equipment calibration schedules.
• Coordinate routine service and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Maintain test equipment in serviceable condition.
• Manage laboratory consumable supplies.
• Maintain laboratory safety and cleanliness requirements.
• Maintain the laboratory work schedule in support of manufacturing and new product development.
• Prepare written updates and test reports.
• Present test results to internal technical teams.
• Participate in cross-functional manufacturing and engineering activities.

Pay Details: $20.00 to $27.00 per hour
