Gear Machinist responsible for setting up and operating manual and CNC gear-cutting equipment, inspecting finished parts, and supporting routine machine maintenance.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret shop orders.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Experience operating manual machining equipment.
  • Experience using gauges and precision measuring tools.
  • Knowledge of dimensional inspection requirements.
  • Ability to perform routine equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic machine issues.

Preferred Skills

  • CNC machining experience.
  • Experience setting up CNC gear-cutting machines.
  • Experience operating CNC gear-cutting machines.
  • Experience with gear manufacturing processes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual gear-cutting machines.
  • Set up and operate CNC gear-cutting machines when applicable.
  • Read and follow shop orders, blueprints, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Measure machined components using gauges and precision inspection tools.
  • Verify finished parts meet dimensional and quality requirements.
  • Perform routine machine and equipment maintenance.
  • Identify and troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
  • Make machine adjustments as required to maintain part specifications.


Pay Details: $17.00 to $18.50 per hour
