Lab Support Associate

Support laboratory operations through inventory management, procurement, material handling, equipment support, and safe management of laboratory supplies.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 2+ years of experience in laboratory support, inventory management, material handling, or operations.

• Experience using inventory management systems.

• Experience with purchasing and procurement processes.

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, stocking supplies, moving materials, and handling cylinders.

• Ability to work in laboratory environments involving chemicals, cryogenic materials, and mechanical equipment.

Preferred Skills

• Associate degree.

• Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or research laboratory environments.

• Experience operating autoclaves and glass washing systems.

• Experience handling liquid nitrogen (LN2), dry ice, and compressed gas cylinders.

• Knowledge of laboratory safety regulations.

• Knowledge of GMP practices.

• Experience tracking and reporting inventory and operational metrics.

• Experience developing operational dashboards or reports.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform glassware collection, washing, drying, and redistribution.

• Operate autoclaves and document sterilization cycles.

• Maintain laboratory support, storage, staging, and glass wash areas.

• Stock and organize laboratory consumables, including solvents, pipette tips, tubes, and PPE.

• Fulfill media requests according to work instructions and specifications.

• Support reagent pickup, receiving, and delivery activities.

• Monitor inventory levels and implement replenishment activities to prevent stockouts.

• Maintain inventory records using inventory management systems and tracking logs.

• Conduct inventory cycle counts and audits.

• Create and manage purchase orders for laboratory supplies and consumables.

• Track purchase orders through delivery and follow up on delayed or outstanding orders.

• Coordinate supply deliveries with vendors and internal departments.

• Monitor, coordinate refilling, and safely handle liquid nitrogen tanks.

• Maintain inventory and proper storage of compressed gas cylinders.

• Coordinate dry ice procurement, storage, and distribution.

• Maintain required labeling, handling, and storage practices for laboratory materials.

• Track inventory levels, usage trends, fulfillment timelines, stockout frequency, and vendor performance.

• Develop and maintain operational reports and dashboards.

• Identify inventory, procurement, and laboratory support process improvements.

• Follow laboratory safety requirements for chemicals, cryogenic materials, and compressed gases.

• Maintain compliance with applicable OSHA and laboratory safety requirements.

• Support safety audits and required safety training activities.

Pay: 20-28/hr

Pay Details: $20.00 to $28.00 per hour
