Quality Engineer
Supports high-volume precision manufacturing quality operations while advancing quality systems from ISO 9001 toward IATF 16949 automotive requirements.
Job Requirements
Experience in quality engineering or quality control within a high-volume precision manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.
Experience supporting or implementing IATF 16949 requirements.
Experience with PPAP documentation and customer quality requirements.
Experience with supplier quality management, auditing, and reporting.
Experience with receiving inspection and first-piece inspection.
Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Experience with calibration program oversight.
Experience operating CMM equipment.
Experience with dimensional inspection and 100% gauging requirements.
Experience conducting internal and supplier audits.
Experience supporting manufacturing floor quality activities.
Preferred Skills
Experience with automotive manufacturing quality systems.
Experience transitioning a quality management system from ISO 9001 to IATF 16949.
Experience with high-speed screw machine operations.
Experience maintaining Customer Specific Requirements documentation.
Experience with robotic inspection systems.
Experience collecting and reporting customer scorecard metrics.
Experience supporting new program launches and quality documentation.
Experience with supplier corrective actions and performance monitoring.
Job Responsibilities
Serve as the primary quality contact for customer requests, rejects, PPAPs, and quality issues.
Support new program launches and associated quality documentation requirements.
Respond to customer quality data requests.
Manage supplier quality requirements, reporting, and audit activities.
Perform and oversee receiving inspection activities.
Manage calibration requirements for shop measurement and inspection equipment.
Collect, analyze, and report customer scorecard and quality performance data.
Conduct internal and supplier quality audits.
Maintain the Customer Specific Requirements library and update applicable quality documentation.
Coordinate quality activities directly with manufacturing floor operations.
Perform first-piece inspections.
Support floor quality inspection, in-process quality control, and 100% gauging activities.
Operate CMM equipment for dimensional inspection.
Maintain and monitor SPC processes.
Provide technical direction and training to quality inspection personnel.
Support robotic inspection systems and automated quality inspection processes.
Develop and maintain quality controls for high-speed precision machining operations.
Support implementation of IATF 16949 processes, documentation, risk management, and quality system requirements.
Identify and implement quality system improvements required for automotive manufacturing compliance.
Pay: 70k-80k/year
