Incoming Inspector I

Performs incoming material, component, PCB, and mechanical part inspections to verify compliance with engineering, customer, and quality requirements before release to production.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic computer proficiency and data entry experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders, inspection instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
• Ability to perform visual, dimensional, cosmetic, and workmanship inspections.
• Ability to use measurement and inspection equipment such as calipers, gauges, microscopes, and related tools.
• Ability to complete inspection reports, quality records, and system transactions.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, twist, kneel, crouch, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements as required.
• Ability to visually inspect components, assemblies, documentation, and computer displays with or without corrective lenses.
• Ability to distinguish colors, markings, symbols, and other required visual indicators.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and ESD protection devices.
• Ability to work in an electronics manufacturing environment near production equipment, soldering operations, and automated machinery.
• Ability to travel up to 10% based on business requirements.

Preferred Skills

• 1+ year of manufacturing, inspection, quality, or related experience.
• Experience in electronics manufacturing.
• Experience inspecting printed circuit boards, electronic components, or mechanical parts.
• IPC-A-600 certification.
• IPC-A-610 certification.
• IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification.
• Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAI).
• Experience reviewing supplier certificates of conformance and inspection documentation.
• Experience with ERP, MES, or quality database systems.
• Experience supporting supplier quality or nonconforming material activities.
• Microsoft Office experience.

Job Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming materials, components, printed circuit boards, mechanical parts, and related products.
• Verify product conformity against engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders, inspection instructions, and applicable industry standards.
• Perform First Article Inspections and document inspection results.
• Perform visual, dimensional, cosmetic, and workmanship inspections.
• Use calipers, gauges, microscopes, and other inspection equipment to verify acceptance criteria.
• Identify and document nonconforming materials, defects, and quality discrepancies.
• Review supplier certificates of conformance, inspection reports, and quality records.
• Support containment activities involving nonconforming material and supplier quality issues.
• Complete inspection reports, quality records, and applicable system transactions.
• Maintain compliance with customer requirements, quality procedures, ESD controls, and safety standards.
• Handle and control inspected materials according to established procedures.
• Support continuous improvement activities related to supplier quality, incoming inspection, and material acceptance processes.

Pay Details: $24.00 to $28.00 per hour
