Operates forklifts and material handling equipment to select, move, stage, load, and unload products and raw materials within a manufacturing and shipping environment.

Job Requirements

  • 1–2 years of forklift experience operating sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
  • Experience loading and unloading trucks in a high-volume facility.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, reach, climb, stoop, and kneel throughout the workday.
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical work under varying plant temperatures and environmental conditions.
  • 20/20 vision or corrected 20/20 vision.
  • Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Knowledge of hazard communication requirements.
  • Ability to understand and follow equipment operating manuals, posted facility signage, safety procedures, and standard operating procedures.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulatory requirements associated with manufacturing.

Preferred Skills

  • Forklift certification.
  • Experience operating high-reach trucks.
  • Shipping and receiving experience.
  • Material handling experience.
  • Cycle counting and barcode scanning experience.
  • Experience reading and working with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Experience working with chemicals or in light chemical manufacturing.

Job Responsibilities

  • Select products according to pick sheets and prepare orders for shipment.
  • Place selected products on pallets according to established loading and stacking requirements.
  • Move completed orders to designated shipping and staging areas.
  • Operate sit-down, stand-up, and other applicable forklifts to move raw materials and finished goods.
  • Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
  • Stack finished goods onto pallets and wrap completed pallets for shipment.
  • Load finished pallets onto trailers.
  • Move materials and products through production, warehouse, and staging areas.
  • Operate material handling equipment in congested industrial environments.
  • Perform material handling, cycle counting, and scanning activities as assigned.
  • Follow applicable safety, quality, security, environmental, and operational procedures.
  • Inspect and operate material handling equipment according to applicable SOPs and operator manuals.
  • Maintain safe handling practices when working around machinery, chemicals, raw materials, and finished products.


Pay Details: $17.00 to $18.00 per hour
