Repair Specialist II
Perform advanced PCBA repair, component-level rework, troubleshooting, inspection, and documentation in accordance with IPC standards and engineering requirements.
Job Requirements
Minimum of three years of progressive experience performing printed circuit board assembly repair and rework in an electronics manufacturing environment
IPC-7711/7721 Certified IPC Specialist certification, or ability to obtain within the required timeframe
Experience performing complex integrated circuit removal and replacement
Experience with pad repair and conductor repair
Experience applying epoxy and other approved PCB repair materials
Experience performing precision soldering
Experience with fine-pitch, surface mount, and through-hole component rework
Experience using microscopes, soldering stations, hot air rework systems, and specialized repair tools
Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, bills of materials, engineering drawings, ECNs, and repair procedures
Working knowledge of IPC-7711/7721 repair methods
Knowledge of IPC-A-610 workmanship requirements
Knowledge of ESD controls and electronics manufacturing processes
Ability to identify electronic components, package types, polarity, and orientation
Ability to document repair activities and maintain product traceability
Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods
Ability to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds
Ability to use required PPE and ESD protection devices
Ability to travel up to 10%
Preferred Skills
Associate degree in Electronics Technology or a related technical field
IPC-A-610 Certified IPC Specialist certification
IPC J-STD-001 certification
ESD Awareness training
Electronics Manufacturing Services experience
Experience using ERP systems
Experience using Manufacturing Execution Systems
Experience supporting failure analysis
Experience supporting prototype builds
Experience processing customer returns
Experience with calibration and preventive maintenance requirements for repair equipment
Job Responsibilities
Perform complex repair and rework of printed circuit board assemblies
Remove, replace, align, and solder fine-pitch, surface mount, and through-hole components
Perform advanced IC removal and replacement
Repair PCB pads and conductors using approved IPC-7711/7721 methods
Perform solder removal and gold pad preparation for replating
Apply epoxy and other approved PCB repair materials
Operate microscopes, soldering stations, hot air rework equipment, and specialized repair tools
Troubleshoot board-level repair failures and identify probable root causes
Interpret schematics, BOMs, assembly drawings, ECNs, and engineering documentation
Inspect completed repairs for solder quality, workmanship, component orientation, and specification compliance
Document component replacements, defects, repair history, and manufacturing system transactions
Maintain accurate product traceability records
Maintain repair workstations and equipment according to ESD, safety, calibration, and preventive maintenance requirements
Support engineering evaluations, prototype builds, failure analysis, and customer return activities
Escalate recurring defects and process concerns to Engineering, Quality, or Manufacturing
Maintain compliance with IPC standards, ESD requirements, quality system requirements, and applicable manufacturing procedures
Pay: 25-30/hr

Pay Details: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour
