CNC Programmer/Machinist

Programs, sets up, operates, and inspects CNC mills and lathes used to produce low-volume, close-tolerance precision components.

Job Requirements

• At least 3 years of CNC programming and machining experience
• Experience programming CNC mills and lathes using Fusion 360 CAM
• Ability to independently set up and operate CNC milling and turning machines
• Experience machining complex, close-tolerance components
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, setup sheets, and work orders
• Knowledge of tooling selection, workholding, fixturing, feeds, speeds, and machining strategies
• Experience adjusting machine and tool offsets
• Experience troubleshooting tooling, setup, dimensional, and machining-process issues
• Proficiency with precision measuring and inspection equipment
• Experience performing first-article, in-process, and final inspections
• Ability to perform machining calculations and shop mathematics
• Ability to work overtime during evenings or weekends as required

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Fanuc controls
• Aerospace machining experience
• CMM programming and inspection experience
• Experience designing or building custom fixtures and tooling
• Welding and fabrication experience
• Forklift operating experience
• Experience machining exotic engineering materials
• Experience supporting prototype and low-volume production

Job Responsibilities

• Program CNC mills and lathes using Fusion 360 CAM
• Create and modify CNC programs for production and prototype components
• Set up and operate CNC machining centers and lathes
• Review blueprints, engineering drawings, setup sheets, and work orders
• Select cutting tools, workholding devices, and machining parameters
• Determine and adjust feeds, speeds, tool paths, and offsets
• Design, modify, or build fixtures and tooling as required
• Machine close-tolerance components from standard and exotic engineering materials
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, dimensional, and surface-finish issues
• Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections
• Inspect parts using precision measuring and metrology equipment
• Verify dimensions, tolerances, and geometric requirements
• Complete production documentation and maintain quality records
• Support process improvements involving cycle time, tool life, quality, and production stability
• Coordinate machining requirements with production and engineering personnel
• Maintain CNC machines, tooling, fixtures, and work areas
• Follow applicable quality, equipment, and workplace safety procedures

Pay Details: $25.00 to $32.00 per hour
