Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • At least 7 years of embedded or systems-level software development experience
  • Advanced C and C++ development experience in Linux environments
  • Experience developing software that interfaces directly with hardware, controllers, or control systems
  • Knowledge of real-time software architecture and low-level software design
  • Experience developing multi-threaded applications
  • Experience debugging complex software and hardware integration issues
  • Experience supporting system integration, performance analysis, and root-cause investigations
  • Knowledge of software architecture, requirements development, testing strategies, and technical documentation

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with embedded Linux
  • Experience with real-time operating systems
  • Proficiency with GDB, Valgrind, Cppcheck, or comparable debugging and static-analysis tools
  • Python, Bash, or Perl scripting experience
  • Knowledge of device drivers
  • Knowledge of communication protocols and hardware interfaces
  • Experience with control systems, sensors, motors, or industrial equipment
  • Experience in medical device, aerospace, security, or other regulated or high-reliability environments
  • Experience with imaging systems
  • Experience with aviation or security technologies

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and develop embedded software that controls system behavior in imaging and security platforms
  • Develop software interfaces for hardware, controllers, sensors, and electromechanical subsystems
  • Build and optimize real-time, multi-threaded applications in Linux environments
  • Develop low-level software components and hardware-abstraction interfaces
  • Troubleshoot software and hardware integration issues in laboratory, manufacturing, and field environments
  • Define and validate interfaces between software, electrical, mechanical, systems, and test components
  • Contribute to embedded software architecture and technical design decisions
  • Develop and maintain software requirements, test strategies, and technical documentation
  • Support system integration and performance tuning
  • Perform root-cause analysis for software, hardware, and system-level failures
  • Debug memory, threading, timing, communication, and hardware-interface issues
  • Support software verification and system validation activities
  • Implement improvements to software reliability, maintainability, test coverage, and development processes
  • Provide technical support for manufacturing and field-reported system issues


Pay Details: $70.00 to $90.00 per hour
