MIG Welders
Performs MIG welding, fit-up, equipment setup, and weld inspection for manufactured components produced to blueprint and work-order specifications.
Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of MIG welding experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to pass a 2G horizontal-position weld test upon hire
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders
- Experience with weld fit-up and preparation
- Experience cleaning, degreasing, aligning, and fitting parts before welding
- Ability to set and adjust wire-feed speed, voltage, and shielding-gas flow
- Experience welding in flat and horizontal positions
- Ability to inspect welds for quality and dimensional conformance
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Preferred Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience using welding gauges and dimensional inspection tools
- Experience welding production parts to defined manufacturing specifications
Job Responsibilities
- Set up and operate MIG welding equipment
- Adjust wire-feed speed, voltage, and gas flow for assigned materials and weld specifications
- Review blueprints, work orders, and welding requirements before production
- Clean and degrease materials before welding
- Fit, align, clamp, and prepare parts for welding
- Perform welds in flat and horizontal positions
- Complete 2G horizontal-position welds to specification
- Inspect finished welds for defects, penetration, profile, and dimensional accuracy
- Verify completed assemblies meet blueprint and work-order requirements
- Correct weld defects and fit-up issues when required
- Maintain welding equipment, work areas, and related tools
- Document completed work and inspection results as required
Pay Details: $19.00 to $24.00 per hour
