Maintenance Technician I - 2nd shift

Maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, and installs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, piping, and instrumentation systems within a manufacturing environment.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with trades training or equivalent industrial maintenance experience
• Experience performing industrial or facility maintenance within a manufacturing environment
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience
• Knowledge of pumps, agitators, chillers, compressors, piping, valves, switches, starters, relays, sensors, and instrumentation
• Experience rebuilding pumps and maintaining industrial equipment
• Ability to read, interpret, and develop piping and instrumentation diagrams
• Knowledge of mechanical, piping, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems
• Experience using electrical test equipment, precision measuring tools, hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems
• Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance techniques
• Experience performing root-cause analysis
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work a rotating shift schedule, primarily supporting second shift
• Ability to work overtime and weekends when required
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in hot, cold, dusty, or other industrial conditions
• Ability to handle hazardous and non-hazardous materials
• Ability to wear respirators, flame-resistant clothing, chemical-resistant gloves, hard hats, safety eyewear, face shields, and other required personal protective equipment
• Ability to work around chemicals and biological substances used in laboratory or production facilities

Preferred Skills

• Associate degree in a STEM-related field
• Industrial maintenance experience supporting chemical, laboratory, or process-manufacturing operations
• Experience with Process Safety Management requirements
• Experience with equipment installation and commissioning
• Experience with continuous-improvement programs
• Forklift experience or certification
• Experience directing contractors or maintenance crews
• Knowledge of lubrication systems, seals, joints, fasteners, and power-transmission equipment
• Experience with equipment calibration and instrumentation maintenance

Job Responsibilities

• Install, commission, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and remove plant equipment and production systems
• Maintain pumps, agitators, chillers, compressors, piping, valves, pneumatics, motor starters, relays, sensors, and related equipment
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and instrumentation failures
• Rebuild pumps and repair industrial mechanical equipment
• Troubleshoot wiring, contactors, relays, motor controls, sensors, and electronic instrumentation
• Inspect and test equipment to identify operating problems and failure causes
• Execute preventive, predictive, calibration, corrective, and reactive maintenance activities
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and production maintenance requests
• Maintain installation, repair, inspection, calibration, and troubleshooting records
• Enter and update work orders and equipment history in the maintenance management system
• Use piping and instrumentation diagrams, electrical drawings, equipment manuals, and technical documentation
• Develop or update system drawings when required for installation or troubleshooting
• Support equipment and process-system design improvements
• Assist with the installation and modification of mechanical, piping, electrical, and control systems
• Apply root-cause analysis to recurring equipment failures
• Support continuous-improvement and equipment-uptime initiatives
• Coordinate scheduled maintenance activities with production personnel and contractors
• Direct contractor work involving assigned maintenance projects
• Apply Process Safety Management procedures in hazardous operating environments
• Maintain tools, test equipment, spare parts, and maintenance work areas
• Follow hazardous-material handling and personal protective equipment requirements
• Support rotating shifts, overtime, and weekend maintenance coverage based on operational needs

Pay Details: $17.00 to $23.00 per hour
